  A rare pair of early 18th century English fireplace andirons. Made of brass and wrought iron and cast with good Queen Anne crowned and dolphins to her side.The brass sections made with early encapsulated molds with small brass plugs. These are a rare survival and in great condition retaining their wrought iron fittments. (#0155)

  To a 3 piece set of fireplace tools comprising of two tongs and one shovel. The tools have brass bell shaped tops and iron bottoms. It is rare to find 2 tongs in a set of tools which have stayed together since their origin. The shovel bottom has been replaced. Pot, brass cast footed, c.1750

  A brass cast footed Cauldron. circa 1750. These items were made in England and Europe and were extremely valuable due to the amount of brass that was used in the period. They were found in the finest homes and used to cook items that would not be agreeable to iron or copper, and many were melted down due to their brass content. (#0248)

Stool, Piano, Rosewood, American, Early 19th C.

  An American early 19th century rosewood, adjustable piano stool. A fine survival with beautiful rosewood veneer in the Empire manner with chamfered tapered pedestal having a knife edge turned capital and crosseted base on bun feet. The secondary wood is white pine and the iron mechanism has been repaired so that the item is fully usable. An unusual example in good condition. Period c.1820-1830. Appears to have been made in Boston and would be a good companion in an Empire furniture collection. (#0271)

Tray, Papier-Mache,English, mid 19th century

  A mid 19th century English Papier-Mache small tray . Marked "Clay, King St. Covent Garden". Henry Clay patented a superior japaning process in 1772. Some of his trays are displayed in a collection at the Victoria Albert Museum in London. This particular tray is in good condition and dates approx. 1830-50. A similar example to this tray is pictured in "The Best of Painted Furniture" by Florence de Damprirre. (#0290)

Transom, 3 pcs., Wood, Rectangular, New York, c.1810

  To a fine and rare three piece set of Transom glazed windows. The two side members as well as the top retain most of the original bent wood astragals which are further mounted with cast lead patera. The set has been carefully hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, small repairs have been made where necessary and they have been reglazed with period glass. The frames are constructed of white pine and are neatly mortised. Measurements: Side lights width: 14 1/8" by height: 52 3/8" Top Light width: 76 3/4" by height 14" (#0358)

  A brass, pierced, 18th C. Irish fireplace fender with twisted rope motif to top-bottom and front pilasters. The fender shows evidences of hand-engraving which are now worn. The fender has been hand polished and lacquered and has small breaks to top and bottom rope motif. Due to the construction and decoration, we believe that this fender is of Irish origin. (#0416)
