Andirons, Brass & Iron, Good Queen Anne, English 18th C.
A rare pair of early 18th century English fireplace andirons. Made of pink brass and wrought iron and cast with good Queen Anne crowned and dolphins to her side. The brass sections made with early encapsulated molds with small brass plugs. These are a rare survival and in great condition retaining their wrought iron fittments one has a small touchmark. Transom, Eliptical, Lead, American c.1790-1810
To a fine and rare early federal New England Overdoor elliptical shaped transom window and frame. The exterior constructed of hard pine contains many small panes of glass, which appear to be original to the unit. Separating the glass are decorative astragals mounted with ornamental cast lead to the front. The ornament is of floral nature and developed with large shields to each side. The delicacy of the transom is supported to the rear by metal struts. This transom is one of the finest that we have had in our collection over the years. The window was part of the Henry Ford Museum in Deerfield, Mich., acquired in 1929 and not refitted. (#1296)

Transom, 1/2 round, Lead American, c.1790-1810
To a fine and rare American hard pine c.1790-1810 transom window. The frame is mounted with lead and tinned iron supports. Applied to the front are various lead ornaments which appear to retain some of the original guilding and black background. This example is wonderfully decorated and retains some of the original glass. It was in the collection of the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, MI. (#1297)

Fireplace Fender, Bell Metal, English c.1790-1810
To a fine and rare fireplace fender, cast in sections of bell metal brass. The piece retains the original bell metal botom pan and the fron is serpentine in form with two courses of applied ribs. The fron is ppierced and highly engraved with Prince of Whales of feathers and other rich motives. The fender has a small repair and is in very good condition with crisp engraving. Hand cleaned and lacquered. (#1318)

Clock, Tall Case, English "Moon Phase" c.1770
To an English mod 18th century walnut long case clock. The movement is time and strike of 8 day duration. The dial signed by the maker "Thomas Hamlison Wrexham (England)" . The clock also has working seconds dial and a nonfunctioning a date of the month dial and a moon face wheel. The movement has been altered and could be a period replacement. The rich walnut case has a broken arch pediment with fretwork applied to cloth. The arch is supported by fluted columns having old gilt gesso capitals and bases. The shaped trunk door and base have central marquetry inlay with flowers and filigree. The clock is supported on bracket feet. All in all the clock is a rich looking example from the mid 18th century. (#1329)

A fine pair of tall new York or Philadelphia fireplace andirons. The cabriole legs end in pad feet and also have spurs on the legs. Above is a square base or plinth with molded bottom. Above is a tapered cylinder column with turned capital and base. A flat plinth or column top foots a turned neoclassic urn finial. The andirons have a central wrought iron rod which is peened to the top. The andirons retain the original wrought iron billets with curved section which acts as a log stop. (#1360)
