Fireplace Fender, 18th C., Brass & Iron, English c.1790

  To a fine and rare neoclassic fireplace fender of curved form and retaining the original iron pan. The face is highly developed with swags and urns and punctuated with continuous design members which are further engraved. This fender is of fist quality and a rare survival. (#1605)

Andirons & Tools, Brass & Iron, Vase Form, c.1800

  To a unique pair of brass and iron fireplace andirons from the Boston Area. The brass ball finials have central rib. The columns or pillars have vase and urn form and are supported on cabriole legs with spurs all supported on ball feet. The iron billets are curved and wrapped with brass and have brass log stops. The set retains two original fireplace tools (tongs and shovel) also of brass and iron. A similar brass and iron poker completes the set. This most unusual and fine fireplace set is in polished and lacquered patina. (#1606)

Fireback, 18th C. Continental

  To a cast iron fireplace chimney back having an ornamental crest cast to the front. This example is dated 1786 and is notched on the sides which perhaps originally were used with side members now gone. The piece is rich in symbolic devices and has been recently painted to show them to advantage. (#1624)

Transom, 3 pcs. Wood & Lead, Maine c.1810

  A 3 piece federal period transom set. Used to surround and entry door. Two side window and one overdoor panel. The pieces are made of pine and have ornamental rosettes. Most of the glass is original. Top window is 65 wide by 15 talll. Sidelights are 55 1/4 tall by 9 1/2 wide. (#1627)

  To a fine pair of American bell metal fireplace andirons in the early neoclassic style having lemon tops, baluster columns above cabriole legs with spurs ending in snake feet. Fireback, Cast Iron, Pennsylvania, c.1760

  To a good quality Pennsylvania German cast iron stoveplate. The decorative field containing tulips and hearts and other stylized motives. The panel is cast in "nicht ge richet weh" The piece is also signed "S F" and dates to the mid 18th century from the Pennsylvanis iron furnaces. (#1750)

Transom, Rectangular, Lead, Philadelphia 1810-1820 Spruce

  To fine and rare Neoclassic overdoor transom. Removed from the rear of a house of quality from the 1200 Block of Spruce St. The retangular wood frame is mountwith the original steam bent ash moulded moulons which have their original cast lead mounts at the apex of the design members. This piece is a rare survival as some of the lead paterae reatain the original gilting under various coats of paint. (#1787)

Fountain, Marble, 3 Young Boys & Boy with fish c.1900

  To a fine and rare hand carved English and Continental white marble water fountain. The base is carved with flowing water above the pedestal with three young boys mounted on top is a three lobed fountain bowl carved from from one piece of marble, also having a moulded edge. Above is a boy with spouting fish which is signed by the 19th C. Firenze Italian artist "P. Bozzanti" The fountain is piped for water and is a most rare survival. Provenance: Crowther of London Note: Small repairs and restorations as found in a piece of the is age. The bottom base pedestal was added at one point to raise and protect the entire fountain from the effects of the base pool of water. A great Garden item. (#1809)
