To a good pair of brass and iron American made andirons. The neoclassic design having a steeple at the top above the rounded ball is typical of this period. This pair is set apart as they retain the original brass wrapped curved galleries to the rear of the andirons. This feature makes the andirons look much wider and fills up the void hearth. The andirons retain their original footed log stops made in the same style as the front section. These were usually lost over the years and fully or partially replaced, however these appear to be the originals, a rare survival. The andirons have been hand cleaned, polished and lacquered to protect the brass surface.
