To a most rare pair of fireplace andirons signed by the maker, "Davis, Boston" c. 1810. The andirons are raised on cabriole spurred legs above are turned bases with turned balls and faceted spires. The andirons retain the original brass signed galleries with log stops matching the fronts. The wrougt iron billets to the rear have had some repair. They have been cleaned and treated with conservation lacquer. |
